Salazar, the Prime Minister of Portugal from 1932 to 1968, did not directly kill Jews himself. During World War II, Salazar's government also cooperated with the Nazi regime by enacting laws that targeted Jewish refugees and by allowing the transit of Jewish deportees through Portugal.
